Building Resilience
Those of us who focus our selves and our lives on loving-kindness have to build our resilience in order to carry on down this path. So often the world appears to be filled with and focused on the negativity and hardships that exist instead of the positive energy that we can all put into solving those problems and building each other up. Without the ability to spring back and refocus, it is easy to get sucked into that darkness.
October 2020 Mediations from the Farm
We have been hosting 30-minute mediations on our Facebook page at 9 am on Saturdays. We’ll be linking the videos here as well. Enjoy!
Make Your Voice Heard: Vote in 2020
There is sickness in our country. From COVID-19 to racism. From lack of affordable health care to climate change. It can feel incredibly overwhelming to truly ponder how much change needs to happen in order to make genuine progress towards a more fair and sustainable country and world. For the most part, we have all had more time to sit and dwell on the sadness and struggle that has surrounded much of our country for so long. What should I do? Where should I focus my energy? How should I take action?
Sustainable Care for a Greater World
We live in a world where self-reliance is highly valued. Where helping others is praised, but accepting help is often looked down upon. But we also live in times where the need for supporting one another is more obvious than ever. Support from others is crucial to allowing for a thriving self and community. Movements like Black Lives Matter need support from all kinds of people in order to make lasting change towards a better and more equal world. COVID-19 can only be managed if entire communities act accordingly, looking out for the greater good and not just oneself.
Summer Update
In the grand scheme of things, we’re doing more than pretty well here at Hallelujah Farm Retreat Center. While we are still holding off on our normal retreats and are deeply missing those connections, there is still so much to be grateful for. Our gardens are flourishing and providing us with delicious foods and beautiful flowers, our grounds are basking in the summer sun, and we have our health and community (even if it remains digital).
